About

About me
My debut novel Let Me Be Like Water is published by Melville House in the US & UK. It was longlisted for the Ondaatje Prize, picked for Brighton City Reads, and the first draft was shortlisted for the Mslexia Fiction Award. I was the 2019 winner of the Berlin Writing Prize, and am a past member of the Northern Short Story Festival Academy.
I work as a lecturer in Creative Writing at Leeds University and am approaching the end of a practice-based-research PhD, thinking about Crip Time and the Climate Crisis. My novel-in-progress is eco-speculative literary fiction, exploring surveillance, domestic violence, illness, and climate justice.
